CV2 Code / Security Code

All credit and debit cards carry a security code number. This number is known to the bank and printed on the card, but is not stored or printed anywhere else. Therefore, it can be used as a check that when you make your purchase you are in physical possession of the card, or have at least seen the card at some time.

American Express Card Members

Your Card Security Code is the four-digit number printed on the front of your Card either above or below your embossed account number.

The CV2 security code number is the four digits on the front of the American Express card.

MasterCard/Visa/Switch Cardholders

Your Card Security Code is the three digits at the end of the card number printed on the signature panel.

The CV2 security code number is the last three digits of the number printed on the back of the MasterCard/Visa/Switch card.
